KAWASAN FALLS

Philippines is famous with a lot of eye catching falls that attracts tourists. One of which is Kawasan Falls which is situated inside the mountains of Barangay Matutinao, Badian, Cebu. Kawasan Falls is a peaceful natural place where many waterfalls of natural spring water located near the southern tip of Cebu Philippines. It is 130 kilometers southwest of Cebu City. It would take 3 hours for a bus ride to arrive in this tourist spot.

Kawasan has three waterfalls. The largest one is mostly visited by tourists and is usually crowded among the three. You need to climb hills for fifteen minutes in order for you to reach the second falls. You should be extra careful in going down the slope especially the one descending from the second or third falls to avoid mishaps or accidents.

From the entrance you will have to walk uphill for about 1.5 kilometers to get to the first waterfall. You will meet a lot of souvenir shops along your way that are selling accessories such as beaded necklaces, bracelets, and Kawasan print t-shirts.

Cottages (1,500 to 2,500 PHP) and tables (500 PHP) are also available for rent; the rooms are for overnight stay. You can rent a raft (300 PHP) to take you around the “pool” or for a refreshing “shower massage” under the falling water. Life vests are also available for rent.

The resort’s restaurants are not cheap and prices are not marked. We ran into problems with the prices getting higher as the day went on, that is why it is a good idea to bring in your own food.

It is best to bring flashlight because the pathway you will be passing is very dark once the sun sets.

Kawasan Falls is a great get-away destination in the southern part of Cebu for families and gatherings.

Fun, cool, and adventure in one. All these in Badian’s Kawasan Falls!
